Compress Image
Compress image files to meet upload size limits
Need an image under 50KB, 100KB, 200KB, or 1MB? Use this image compressor to make a photo, signature, screenshot, or scan smaller before you upload it to a form, application, website, or email.
Compress image files in JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, and SVG on your device—nothing is uploaded. Preview the new file size before you download, and keep the file that meets your limit.
How to compress image files
Upload an image
Drop a file on the page or click upload. This image compressor accepts up to 50 images and packs a batch into a ZIP.
Choose format and size
Keep the original format, or switch JPG, PNG, and WebP. Open settings to set quality or a target size.
Download the file
Save the smaller image. A batch downloads as one ZIP. The originals on your device stay untouched.
Common questions
Is this image compressor free?
Yes. This image compressor runs in your browser. There is no account and no fee.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Encoding happens on this device. Nothing is sent to a server for processing.
Can I set the quality?
Yes for JPG, WebP, and GIF. Open settings and choose Quality. It starts at 75. PNG and SVG stay lossless, so they have no quality control. Target size still aims for a file size instead of that number.
Can I convert between JPG, PNG, and WebP?
Yes. The output menu applies to JPG, PNG, and still WebP. GIF, SVG, and animated WebP stay in their own format.
Why does the file size sometimes stay the same?
Some images are already as small as they can be. Compressing them again would not make a smaller file, so you keep the original and the size looks unchanged.
Can I compress image files in a batch?
Yes. Add up to 50 images, each up to 25MB. Click the button and download them as one ZIP.
